Tony Soljan

Tony Soljan is the man behind the Soljans Estate brand, and is one of the NZ wine industry’s original “Young Winemakers of Auckland”. He is as passionate about this industry today as he was 60 years ago! Tony has spent his lifetime dedicated to producing wine and operating a world class tourism facility, showcasing wine from the vineyard to the glass. It isn’t often that you could take a trip to Soljans Estate Winery and not see Tony working hard in the business. “Managing Director” in this boutique winery also means tour guide, PR consultant, bottling line mechanic and consultant winemaker. There is never a dull moment and indeed never a spare moment for Tony! Tony's long and distinguished service to the New Zealand wine industry was recognised in 1999 when he was made a fellow of the Wine Institute of New Zealand, an honour bestowed on only 16 people since its inception.
